As scientific designer, I have to master both scientific thinking and creative composition to create meaningful illustrations. Accuracy is my watchword and this requires a thorough creation process.
My scientific background helps me communicating to clients by using the same terminology. I can then easily understand my client expectations for a specific design and I can adapt the specifications to the target audience.
Litterature & scientific references review
To properly depict a scientific phenomenon, it is important to understand it. A proper review of of the scientific litterature on the subject is a key step to ensure the accuracy of the final illustration.
As designer, my mission is to overcome the problems my clients could have, and find solutions to create a creative composition. This results in an impacting and engaging image which properly depicts a given subject.
Feedback, modifications & delivery
The last step is to ensure client satisfaction and modify the image according to the received feedback. This step is always performed with client guidelines as well as the target audience in mind to create the perfect final image.
A skilled scientific designer
Scientific communication can be done on different supports (infographics, power point presentations, posters, illustrations...).
